Boo !

Jordan spent the night with a friend. This was the first year since 1999 that I got to stay home on Halloween and pass out candy to the kids.

Oreo dressed as a "Surfer Girl" with her life jacket and goggles.

Nana and I dressed as ... as... well we just threw a few silly things on and had fun! I wasn't going for scary but I guess to a 3 yrd old I must have looked like some crazy idiot .... I made a kid cry :-( lol!

Preach It, Paw Paw !!

First I'd like to say "Sweet Lord Jesus, please forgive me for taking pictures during church service." ;-) - lol

We traveled to Birmingham to hear Paw Paw preach the Word !
Go Ahead !!

His sermon was on Godly Wisdom and making wise decisions. He used the word "sagacity"......... ( he's an avid Scrabble player.) It was a great teaching. We all need wisdom -- Godly wisdom -- because God is absolute and His Word is absolute truth; whereas worldly wisdom is relative, trite, and based on ever changing emotions, cultural mores, and circumstances. (in case you didn't know, God's Word never changes.) The Bible reads that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". So, simply put ..... obey God! Yet, we all know that saying it is alot easier than doing it ! So, we thank God for His Son who set the perfect example for us to follow and we thank Him for His Holy Spirit who will gently, subtly, lovingly guide us.

(You know, God really has given us everything we'll ever need -- He's so good to us!)

Evolution: From the Monkey's Point Of View

You won't believe what I heard today,
It nearly knocked me out of my tree !
Someone had the nerve to say
that man evolved from me !
To us proud monkeys, it is an insult,
It is a downright disgrace;
For the deluded scientists to even suggest,
Lowly man came from our noble race.
You may ask... "Why all the clamor"?
Why are we making such a fuss?
Just take a look at them,
Then take a look at us.
Our families stay together,
We aren't split up by divorce.
Half of theirs' are shattered;
Well, just consider the source.
They rob, they cheat;
They steal from each other.
Their aim is to beat,
And get the best of their brother.
We have no prison, we have no bars,
We have no electric chair.
We have no terrorist, we have no bombs;
We have no atomic scare.
We don't do: abortions, drugs or crime,
Because we are too smart.
Don't believe me? Then tell me,
How many wars did we start?
To be in man's family tree,
No! we respectfully decline.
We and all the other animals
Came from a different line!
Like the mountains and the rivers;
Like the birds and the bees.
Like the sun and the sky,
Like the clouds and the seas.
From the vast unlimited span of the universe;
To tiny peas in a pod.
We did not evolve!
We were created by God!

Oh. My. Everlovin' ........Blueberry Pancakes !!!!!

Jordan's Fairy Godmother, Auntie Babs travels to Cape Cod, Maine each year with her 90-something year old grandmother, Grammie. Each year they visit a local favorite called - Jordan's Restaurant. And each year our Fairy Godmother sends a care package filled with goodies -- T-shirts, hats, cups, pens, stationery, etc. (she's a very generous Fairy Godmother :-)
BUT THIS YEAR, WE FOUND A BERRY SPECIAL SURPRISE......

MAINE WILD BLUEBERRY PANCAKE MIX !!!!!
(I love you, Fairy Godmother.)
Now, I must preface the rest by saying, if you don't like blueberry pancakes, please don't tell me 'cause I want to love all my friends and not think there's something fundamentally flawed with them. K?

Just look at the REAL PLUMP AND JUICEY - not flat and all dried out - WILD BLUEBERRIES !!!
(my mouth is watering!)

I think I'm about to cry.

Oh, my --- I can't handle this!

Come to Mama!!
These pancakes were BY FAR the BEST blueberry pancakes I've EVER eaten!! Simply put, they were Heaven on a fork!!
Thank you Fairy Godmother. Thank you berry much !!
(I made enough to eat for lunch.... and possibly dinner.)
(If you'd like to try some, here is their link. You won't be disappointed.)

Oreo's Hoodie

Dont' laugh! .... but Oreo has her own hoodie....

Now we're not those freaky kinds of people who take their dogs to spas and carry them around in their pockets and feed them caviar ---- really we're not !! (well ... mostly not.) But if you think about it, Oreo is a short-haired dog and lived her entire little life in Florida where the lowest it ever got was 54 degrees.

Soooooooo, when the weather changed here in AL to 39 degrees we noticed she was shivering ... inside the house. Obviously we were forced I tell you to buy her a jacket!

Oooops, I think I woke her up. Hi, Sunshine -- smile for the camera ... cheeeeeese!

Uh. Oh..... she's giving me that look. The look that says "Leave me alone! I'm trying to get my nap on!!"

Where are you going?

Fine. Turn your back on me. I can take a hint.
Sweet dreams you little warm polka-dotted princess ! LOL !!

WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART !!!

Nana! Gha-Gha! don't look at this post! I'm just trying to save you from a really bad sick feeling in your gut....... but if you must look, go get the Tums...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I.........can't...........take.........it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jordan's going to a party this Saturday, dressed as a Gothic-girl. This is the first - and most likely the last - time she goes as something "dark". YUCK !! Where's my sweetie pie????

Now these pictures look nutso if you know Jordan - 'cause well, Jordan is the exact opposite of "dark" and "dangerous" --- she's full of life and joy and still gets in trouble for talking in class (... I don't know where she gets that from?!) lol!!

While we were putting on the finishing touches, she saw the horror on my face and said,"Mom, don't worry! I could never stay this way --- I'm too bubbly and I just have to smile!"

whew !!

Dothan Botanical Gardens

Jordan, Oreo and I went to the Dothan Botanical Gardens and had a beautiful time walking around and enjoying the scenery!

Beautiful pathways and gardens.

Beautiful trellis.... great place for a wedding!

Wishing Well.

Koi pond...complete with bridge and THREE foot Koi!

And then we stumbled upon a nice surprise.... several city businesses competed in a Scarecrow contest.....

"Welcome to Dothan Crow" -- Dothan Newcomers Club

"Chicken Crow" - Perdue Farms

"Crow's Revenge" - Civic Club

"Head Over Heels Crow" -- Botanical Gardens Club
(my favorite!)

"Frosty The Snow Crow" - Headland Elementary School
(Jordan's Favorite !)

Panama City Beach ..... (again!)

Panama City Beach is only 1.5 hours away from where we live. So, it's just long enough to feel like you've gotten away from it all but close enough to feel... well, close by.

If you ever go to Panama City Beach, check out The Holiday Inn Express Resort. It's a great hotel overlooking the ocean that offers great entertainment such as hula hoop contests, karaoke, dancing contests, poolside movies, toddler water park, arcade room, spa room, etc..... Pretty fun place to stay!

Jordan is a "Believe It Or Not - aholic" ! After we visited the Ripley's Museum in St. Augustine, Jordan was hooked. So, when we saw this one in PCB, we had to stop. The museums are pretty interesting. This one had a limo covered in 18-K gold coins, shrunken heads, horses smoking cigarettes.... you know... the average weird stuff.

One of my favorite tv shows is "Deadly Catch". This reminded me of that show. This is a 26 ft King Crab. (.... anyone have any butter?)

"Human Belt" -- LOL !

Take a close look here...... is he coming or going?

At the halfway point of the museum tour, we got to go through a laser maze somewhat like the one in the "Mission Impossible" movie.... well, not just like that one -- but fun just the same !

And (of course) Jordan won a spot on the leader board. She came in 5th over all LOL. Maybe she should pursue a career in spying????..... or not.

Gulf World had cute animal shows. We loved the dolphins.

But, come on, who doesn't love dolphins, right?!?!?! Way tooooo cute !

So is this one - ha !

We really got a kick out of touching the manta rays. But there was one small ray that seemed to "like" Jordan's hand the best. She would put her hand in the water and it would swim right up to her...... everytime she put her hand in. So, we all put our hands in at the same time and again this particular manta ray swam to Jordan. HA !

I loved the sharks!

Here is Red. He is 58 years old and very grumpy. He cawed three times while Jordan took this picture of us...... Daddy jumped each time. I think Red made him a little nervous LOL!

Remember "Crush" in the movie Finding Nemo? Can't you just hear him saying "Oh, man! No hurling on the shell, dude, ok? Just waxed it."

(shhhh.... don't tell Nana I put this on here...tee hee ;-)

The Gulf of Mexico is gorgeous! I see why it's named "The Emerald Coast".

And at the same time, I see why it's called "The Redneck Riviera" -- yee haw, *snort* !!
