NAP TIME
Naptime for the girls! How Oreo keeps from getting a crick in her neck, I'll never know !?! This is a regular sight on Sunday afternoons
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TSHOMBE !
For Tshombe's birthday, I got him tickets to an Orlando Magic vs Miami Heat basketball game ! We had a great time (even though Shaq didn't play.)
OREO'S TRAGEDY
Poor, Poor, Oreo..... she broke her elbow chasing Jordan on her bike. We took her to the emergency vet center but after he looked at the x-rays, he said it was too far gone for just a cast.... she would need surgery. The closest surgery center is an hour away!! Needless to say we took her -- the only other option was to have her put to sleep. The good news is that she was in very capable hands. Dr. Neihaus was her surgeon and one of his partners is Dr. Kevin Drygas who was an intern on Animal Planet's "E-Vets" tv show!
GINORMOUS LEMONS !!
Whoever said things are bigger in Texas never saw the lemons in Florida!! We went on a church outreach into the neighborhood inviting people to our Easter service. When we got to this house, we couldn't figure out what kind of fruit was on the tree -- oranges? grapfruit? passion fruit? What was it?? When we asked the owner he said.... lemons!!
FIRST DAY OF FOURTH GRADE !
Jordan started 4th grade (it just seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital) Time flies!! She loves school, loves to learn, loves to see her friends, and loves to get out of the house !
OREO
This is Oreo our precious Boston Terrier who thinks she's human !! She has a great personality and makes us laugh often. Tshombe never grew up with pets but before you know it, Oreo has him wrapped around her paw. I catch him sneaking her food and snuggling on the couch -- too cute!
OUR LITTLE ANGEL
Here is our pride and joy!! Our daughter, Jordan. She is and will always be a source of joy in our lives -- children are truely a gift from God ! This is a picture of her in her angel costume for the 2007 Christmas play at church.
THE REASON WE'RE IN FLORIDA
This is why we're in Florida..... Belk Department Store !! Tshombe has worked for them for 9 years and has had serveral promotions !! Go Daddy ! This was his first new-store opening. He was in charge of all the details -- hiring, training, advertising, community relations, etc. The store opened in October of 2007 with the highest sales ever for a Charity Day Event !!!! Praise God!
NEIGBORHOOD PET ALLIGATOR
My neighborhood sits on a golf course. We use the cart trails as walking trails. One day while walking the trail, I ran into "Vern" - a 15 foot alligator ! After asking about him to the neighbors, I was told that Vern was sired by Old Walter -- a 21 foot alligator -- who had three legs from an unsuccessful attempt to capture him. Old Walter lived to be a ripe old age and died 2 years ago leaving Vern behind to carry on the legacy !! Now is it just me or is everyone a little too relaxed about having an alligator in the neighborhood ???

Well, we all have our own decorating tastes! I never thought about having a "themed" mailbox...... to each his own ! Florida certainly has its own uniqueness!
