We enjoyed a FREE concert at the Flagler Auditorium that featured the Band of the United States Air Force Reserve. It was fabulous !! Being a former trumpet player, I was particulary impressed with the trumpet soloist who could have broken a champagne glass with notes that soared past human hearing -- Ha Ha !! During one section of the concert, they played three songs to "honor" the South -- one of which, was "Georgia On My Mind" -- Nana loved that one !!!!!

I bought a fancy, shmancy flat-iron and we played with it on Jordi's hair.
She LOVES it !!
She holed herself up in my bathroom for 3 hours parting, combing, flipping, teasing, brushing, clipping, spritzing, twisting, braiding, twirling, ..........
Tshombe's not too happy..... he wants his baby-girl back! (ha ha !)

Change Has Come !
Today, I am so proud of my country .... a country that for so long has been divided over petty differences, a country that would rather invest in fear than in hope, a country that would rather hate than love ... well, no more ! Change Has Come ! Today, we can hope.... Today, we can celebrate... Today, we can begin anew ! For Today was the evidence that a MAN was judged -- based not on the color of his skin but by the content of his character !!! Change Has Come !!

HAPPY MLK, JR DAY !!
A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.
Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?, 1967.
It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.
Martin Luther King, Jr., Wall Street Journal, November 13, 1962.
Being a Negro in America means trying to smile when you want to cry. It means trying to hold on to physical life amid psychological death. It means the pain of watching your children grow up with clouds of inferiority in their mental skies. It means having your legs cut off, and then being condemned for being a cripple. It means seeing your mother and father spiritually murdered by the slings and arrows of daily exploitation, and then being hated for being an orphan.
Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?, 1967.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love, 1963
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Martin Luther King Jr.
