Where's Oreo ?

Have you seen the commercial where the dog is in the owner's bed and then hears them come home, jumps off the bed and into the dogbed?? We understand that -- except when we come home, instead of getting out of our bed, Oreo hides in our pillows, lays VERY still and hopes we don't see her!! ha

4th Grade Awards Ceremony

Congratulations, Boo !! You passed 4th grade with flying colors !! She received a "Terrific Kid" certificate; an A/B Honor Roll for 4th quarter certificate; and a Promotions with honors certificate -- good job !! We knew you could do it !!

Here's Bambi's mom! She and her fawn are a frequent sight in our back yard. So much so that Oreo has quit barking at them. She is certainly "people trained". She never ran away. After watching me take a picture of her, she went back to grazing.

Happy Birthday !!! Oreo turned a year old today !! She got to go to the dog-park , eat cake and ice-cream, and play with new toys !!! (Only pet owners will understand this !! -- ha ha)

Daddy / Daughter Date !

Ever so often, Tshombe will surprise Jordan with a daddy/daughter"date" (no moms allowed !!) Tonight he is treating her to dinner and a movie - The Narnia Chronicles. He holds the doors for her; pays for the meal and movie; compliments her and INTENTIONALY shows her how a good man should treat her -- she absolutely adores this !!! You can't tell in this picture but she put on lipgloss and fresh nailpolish -- too cute !!

Good Friends !

Sure is good to see old friends ! Nana had some friends traveling through the area and met for lunch. They've known each other for over 30 years !! Can you imagine !! Next time I get Carol alone, I'm going to try and get all the "scoop" about my mom -- ha !! After 30 years there's got to be some skeletons !! ha ha

Poetry Reading

This past 9-weeks Jordan's 4th grade class has been learning all kinds of poetry : cinquian;bio-poem;diamante;acrostic, etc. Each student had to put together a poetry folder that they wrote and decorated themselves. Then their teacher turned the classroom into a poetry cafe including treats and invited family to come listen to the poetry readings. After each reading, instead of clapping we snapped our fingers -- how fun!!

Two Strand Twists

Jordan loves her "new hair"! I searched the internet and found a site on how to do "2 strand twists" -- so I did it!! She loves how it lays down... I like that I don't have to comb it (refer to the "lioness" photo- ha)

Girls Day Out !

Happy "Pre" Mother's Day !! Nana and I took each other out for a pedicure (and Jordan too!) --- Just love those massaging chairs !

AAAAAAAA !!!!!!

Minding my own business, I walked outside with Oreo and to our surprise ..... a rat snake was in our front yard !!!! AAAAAAA .... it tried to crawl up the tree but finally gave up (probably because I was pushing it with a broom) and went away. I looked it up on the internet and they eat birds and squirrels -- YIKES !! Another day at the zoo !!
