Winter Band Concert

It's that time of year !!
 Beautiful decorations...

Fun clothes, fellowship, and happy smiles...

And wonderful music !!...

Jordan plays the French Horn in the 7th grade band.  This year she got to sit up on stage.  I can already tell a big difference in their playing over last year!  They sound great!

Wishing you a warm Christmas.....

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas!!

Ahhh, there's no place like home....
especially during the holidays!

I love the Christmas Season!!
With all the colors, and decorations, and foods !
Of course, Jesus is the reason for the season ...
so, thank you, Lord, for being the best gift of all !

Downtown Winter Wonderland

We had a downtown Winter Festival where the city brought in actual snow!
Everyone had fun throwing snowballs !!

As with all festivals, there were tons of local vendors selling their wares.
Here is a "tin man" bird house - cute !

And free sweets ......  look at the size of that cookie !

Speaking of size.... is this a dog or a horse?

Ooooooo, SMORES!!
Ah, perfection !!!
Have I mentioned how much I love this time of year??

Tis The Season To Be Jolly !!

This year the clinical side of where I work invited me to attend their Christmas party.
We met at O'Charleys.

And enjoyed the rolls..

The best part is that I actually work in the Occ Med Dpt ...  so I get to do this again next week with more friends :-) --- I love this time of year !!

A Night Out at The Cultural Arts Center

This orchestra is made up of just plain ole' citizens from the community.
They get together twice a week to rehearse!

It was good to see so many out supporting the local arts!

I really enjoyed it !

At one point, they played the theme songs from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons -- I could actually remember the cartoon that the songs went with -- LOL !

Here's some of them ....

Houston County 4H Peanut Essay Contest -- 2nd place winner !

Well, Well, Well.... Jordan won 2nd place in the Houston County
4H  Peanut Essay Contest for Farm Week.
We were told that 58 students participated.
We were invited to the annual Houston County Agriculture Banquet
held at the Civic Center.

Tons of people were there!

Including the city's mayor, who hosted the night's events.

We were fed a fantastic Ribeye dinner ! (free!!!!)

They had the winning posters displayed.

Jordan was publicly recognized, given a certificate and a $35.00 check!

She was proud and embarrassed all at the same time :-)
Good Job, Boo!

Alabama Snow........ Cotton!

There's a huge cotton field accross the street from where we live.  One day we drove by and saw all the cotton blooming --- it reminded us of snow.

Happy Halloween!

Since Jordan is at that age where I'm just her ride,
she had all-day plans with friends for Halloween and I have no pics of her other than this one.
This year she went to a friend's house as the cat in the hat
and started having fun at 10:00 am.
Here we are having breakfast at our community club house
before the festivities.

Later that night, Nana dressed up as
a cat and handed out candy -- cute!!

Peanut Festival

Ah! The Famous Peanut Festival !

Each year thousands (and I'm not exaggerating!) of people

travel to Dothan, AL just to go to the Peanut Festival.

There are tons of rides.....

and games....

and fun .....

and more fun.....

and even more fun....

And of course ... my favorite.... the funnel cake!

One of Jordan's BFF's came along .....
and boy did they have a good time!!!  LOL
