Good Bye !! Come Back Soon !

Bye, Dad !! Bye, Miss Elly !!  We had a great time seeing you !  We miss you already !

Happy Birthday ...... NOT !

Once again, Dad & Miss Elly took us out to dinner.  We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant where I play my all time favorite trick on my unsuspecting family and friends... mwahahhahaaaaaaa!!

Miss Elly was quietly eating her dinner when the restaurant exploded into clapping

and our server came up to the table clapping and singing

and placed a sombrero on top of Miss Elly's head

she was stunned ... and we were laughing our rumps off !

then she got into it and started clapping and singing too !

We all got a good laugh and Miss Elly was a good sport !

Down Time

While dad took a nap ( tee hee ) ...

Jordan and I played with the camera ...

Dad wanted to take a quick trip to Panama City Beach to "see the oil". I tried to tell him there wasn't any but ... he wanted to see for himself.

See, Dad?  No oil.

The Night Of The Crab Legs

While visiting us, Dad & Miss Elly wanted to take us out to eat.

I got all cuted up ;-)

We went to a local seafood restaurant and Miss Elly ordered the crab legs.

A whole plate of them !!!

She was in Heaven -- and a professional at eating the legs !

7th & 8th Grade Florida Band Competition - Awards

Just a reminder that the kids went to Florida for a band competition ( not just for fun ) -- they were awarded straight Superiors  ( all A's ) in each category.  While they play their three pieces, there are 4 judges critiquing their tone, rythm, melody, sincapation, etc.  Each band receives copies of these cd's where they can hear the judges talking about how they played -- while they are playing.  One judge said "Wow, your tone quality is that of a high school band.  I'm just awestruck!" ---- fabulous !!

I must add a note here, that I played trumpet for 6 years ( 6th grade through 12th ) It was an "easy" grade back in my day.  Jordan's school, however, takes Band Class extremely seriously !  Each student has to study and remember a full page piece of music to play in front of the band each semester for a grade PLUS each student has to play a piece into a microphone that calculates the student's tempo and tone and grades them accordingly.  She also brings home accompaniment tracks that she practices with. --- I NEVER had to do any of that !!  No wonder they sound like a high school band ;-)

Pirates Dinner Theatre

One night the band went to a Pirates Dinner Adventure for food and fun!

While eating, they enjoyed watching pirates fight and search for treasure!

Fun was had by all !
