Headland Chamber of Commerce Event

So, part of my new job description ( Public Relations ) includes  

outside events -- such as "outside the office"...

this was my first outside event held in Headland, AL in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce.

I met over 40 different vendors and gained 4 that could use our services ! I loved it ! I made tri-fold boards to hi-light the different areas of our services along with a "Test Your IQ" board -- It was a hit !

Church Youth Convention

This year's Uth convention was held in Orange Beach, Florida.  Jordan loved the speaker and the band.  Looks like they were rockin for Jesus !!

It was my turn to wear the hat -- LOL

Nana volunteers at the Wiregrass Hope Center.  It's a safe place for pregnant women and families who aren't sure they can make it on their own.  The Hope Center provides -- well... hope.  There are counselors and mentors and gifts galore -- health education, public and private services.  Mom loves it !!  Each year they have a banquet for all the volunteers.  We had a great time!  It was held at The Depot and the food was wonderful.  We enjoyed the Quartet and mom -- as usual  -- was the life of the party ;-)

Dr. Peanut

I was having my yearly check up, minding my own business, when I turned down the hall and saw this !! LOL It's a peanut. Dressed as a doctor.  Dr. Peanut.  Bwahahahahaaa If you know anything at all about Dothan, AL, you know that it's the peanut capitol of the world ( yes, the WORLD) And all throughout the city there are these peanut statues in honor of the mighty peanut. LOL To see one at my GYN's office totally cracked me up !

My New Office

I got a new office at work .. and a new position -- Public Relations Director.

I feel... excited, optimistic, grateful and well, a little freaked out.

I hope that I'm able to do the job that's expected of me. So, to help settle the nerves a little bit , I had to decorate ... just a little. LOL

Valentine's Day Dance

Creative Creatures

Well, one thing is for sure -- Jordan has a strong creative streak.

I mean, geesh, when I played with playdough

I made colorful balls and maybe a snake

but when Jordan plays with playdough she creates creative creatures!

The Amazing Oreo and Yoga

The Amazing Oreo keeps her mind body and spirit in tune with Yoga.  Here she demonstrates the 'plank' which strengthens her middle core.

When My Child Is Bored

When my child is bored.....

 

she doesn't read a book.

She doesn't watch tv or

sit around eating bags of chips.

When *my* child is bored, she smothers her face with silly putty and pretends she's a monster from the planet Zorare. *blink*  *blink*

Well, I suppose it's better than sitting around eating bags of chips.  LOL

CHOPPED -- Jordan Style !

Have you ever seen "Chopped" on the Food Network?  It's INSANE!  It's also one of our favorite shows.  The competing chefs have a basket with secret ingredients that they have to make a dinner out of in 30 minutes.  They are graded on their creativity, presentation, and taste. 

So, Jordan wanted to try this. 

In her basket, she had ground turkey meat, flour tortillas, a bag of salad mix, and a can of whole cranberry sauce and 60 minutes... GO!

"So, Chef Jordan, what are you planning to do with the turkey meat?"

"I'm going saute it and add a packet of Taco Seasoning for flavor."

"Chef Jordan, what item in your basket seems to be the hardest to prepare?"

"Well, I'm not sure about the cranberries.  I'm going to reduce them with some sugar and honey to offset the tartness."

"So, Chef Jordan, I see that you're time is ticking away, what do you have planned for the salad mix?" 

"Mom, leave me alone, I can't concentrate and talk at the same time!!!"
